Leo I is a 10th magnitude elliptical galaxy 815 thousand light years from our solar system. It is an elliptical galaxy of morphological type E.

Photographed with the RC8″ reflector telescope and the ASI 2600MC color CMOS camera in Stuvsta, March 22nd 2025. Exposure was 30*3 min with IDAS LPS D2 filter. Post-processing in Pixinsight. No moon visible. The bright blue glow at the top comes from the nerby star Regulus (Alpha Leonis).
